These are some of the letters and comments we have received from Care Users and their families.
Dear Carers Direct,
“My family and I would like to thank you for your wonderful support both physically and mentally to Jim and myself.
I dread to think how I could have got through without your care and advice.
Both the Office Staff and the Carers were always considerate and caring.
The Carers kept me right on all matters. That was a great help. Most important was that Jimmy appreciated their care and the dignity he was given. He also was very friendly with them. They always came with a smile on their faces to cheer him up. They made his final days very much easier.
I did not realise before Jimmy needed Carers just exactly how much they do for the patient. They really get top marks for everything. We saw it was a very important job. Keep up the good work. Please know that you are all appreciated”.

“I am sorry it has taken me so long to express my sincere thanks and eternal gratitude for the excellent service Carers Direct provided whilst mum was at home.
The fantastic team you have, I am very aware, does not happen by luck or chance. Company practices, procedures and a great deal of hard work must account for the high standards you consistently provided.
It is therefore thanks indeed to your Office Manager Ann Don, Administration Team and finally, but so importantly your individual carers who took such exceptional care of Mum and allowed her to remain independent for as long as was safe to do so.
Last November, the quick reactions of Rhiannon, I have no doubt saved mum from additional distress and suffering.
Debbie also deserves mention for raising concerns about Mum’s changing habits which alerted Ann Don to the deterioration in Mum’s condition.
At all times, I felt so involved, informed and most importantly of all supported by Ann Don. I do hope she knows how much she helped me throughout the journey”. D Mickel , Helensburgh, Argyll & Bute, Feb 2014.
“My mother (aged over 90) needed 24 hour care and wished to remain in her home on a
rural island in Argyll for as long as possible. Carersʼ Direct took up the challenge and
provided a team of carers, changing normally every week, to live in my motherʼs house
and provide the necessary personal and domestic care.
“This care continued for two years and we became acquainted with a fair few faces in that
time, from the Philippines, Zimbabwe and Poland. All the carers were attentive to my
motherʼs needs and continued smiling through power cuts, gales and lack of a water
supply. Indeed some became friends and we remain in contact.
“Staff in the office were always on hand to provide stand-in care cover, change transport
arrangements and resolve problems as they arose. We found them versatile and
appreciative of the wishes of the client wherever possible.
“The service Carersʼ Direct provided was a godsend and my mother was grateful for the
extra two years she could remain in her home. I would consider using their services in the
future and recommend them to others.” Anon, Argyll and Bute, May 2013
“I would like to say that Ann Don and her team of carers are excellent, more specifically Ann herself sets the care and emotional responsiveness bar very high. She leads from the front and gets involved directly in maximising my uncle’s quality of life.
“I have no hesitation in recommending her as a carer of exceptional quality”. D.H.S Morton, London, May 2013
“Dear All at Carers Direct,
“I would like to express my thanks and gratitude for providing Quality carers to my home to help me care for my Mum over the years, sometimes at short notice.
“The Carers you provided were all excellent, sometimes they were there for me also if I had had a bad night and was in bits when they arrived.
“I would certainly recommend you to people in the future and hope you continue to provide this invaluable service to people like Mum and myself for many years to come.” CL, Appin, Argyll & Bute, January 2013
“Dear All at Carers Direct,
“What a very nice surprise I got yesterday, when I received your really lovely card bringing me birthday wishes. It was very kind and thoughtful, and has given me so much pleasure.
“Each day now, I know when the bell rings in the morning, when I open the door I’ll find a happy smiling face, ready to come in and help and start off my day so happily and cheerily!
“I am so grateful for all the help I am getting and I thank each one of you most sincerely. I still feel young inside – it’s the outside that is crumbling, and it’s frustrating not being able to do the things that used to be easy.
“Again, thank you for your loving care which I appreciate so much.” HM, Helensburgh, September 2012
“Dear Carers Direct,
“I should like to express my appreciation of the care I have received during the period when I have been recovering from a knee replacement.
“The Girls have given an excellent service and have been both professional and helpful. I feel I have made some new friends!
“I should also like to congratulate you on the administration – everything was organised so carefully. I knew I could always rely on the Carers turning up (even in the worst of weather) exactly when they were expected.
“Thank you once again for a First Class service!” ER, Helensburgh, January, 2012
